Readers are Leaders

The more you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.

Dr. Seuss, "I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!"

Dear Parents and Students:

We are on our way to learning what good readers do!  According to research,  if children watch you reading, they will enjoy and love reading.  So, let them see you reading!

Also, second through fifth grade students should be reading every night and then completing the home reading log.  This log is due every Friday!  Let's help the children create good reading habits.

Sincerely, in Christ,

Lidia Lage Parets

NEWS ALERT:

Last Day of School before Christmas

Friday, December 19th, 2009

We resume on Monday, January 5th, 2009

Thank you for ALL You Do for US!

Test Tips:

Before you read the story...take a quick look at the questions.  They tell you what to look for as you read!

If you see a new word, use the words around it as clues.  They will help you figure out what the new word means.

Read all your answer choices before you decide.  Sometimes the last choice is best.

  Use picture clues.

Cross out silly answer choices to help get you closer to the right answer.

Be able to prove your answers by finding and highlighting information in the story.

If you see a name in the passage you can't read, just say your name instead.

Stuck on a hard question?  Skip it and move on.  Come back to it later if time allows.
