Welcome Back!!!
Welcome back to school! I am very excited for this school year and have many wonderful projects scheduled for this year. Please make sure your child brings all their art material everyday to class. Below is the list of supplies:

Objective: To create a Flower for Spring.

Grading
The grading scale, which applies to grades 2nd-8th, PPA, PPB and PPC, is divided into three sections.
1/3 Class Work/Projects • 1/3 Supply Check/Participation • 1/3 Tests/Portfolio
Supplies
(Students are to bring their own supplies to every Art Class):
Sketch Book •Water Color Pad • 2 Pocket Folder •Oil Pastels • Crayons • Markers • Colored Pencils (optional)
Scissors • Glue Stick • Liquid Glue Bottle (Elmer's) • 2- Pencils (sharpened) • Eraser
Tests/Portfolios
Middle school students will be given written tests throughout the trimesters.
At the end of each trimester, the students
from 2nd - 8th, PPA, PPB & PPC will be responsible to hand in their
portfolios (2-pocket folder) with their art work. The folder or portfolio needs
to be labeled with their name
and grade/homeroom. This will count as a test grade.
The portfolio is to have all the artwork that was done throughout the trimester.
Students will be given a grade for all their completed artwork and on how they have progressed
throughout the trimester.
Classroom Rules
1. Listen carefully and follow directions the first time they are given.
2. Always be prepared with all your art materials and stay in assigned seat.
3 Take care of and respect all art materials, school facility and all property.
4. Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself. No gum or food allowed.
5. Work QUIETLY on projects -- use time wisely. Always respect others.
6. Clean up after yourselves and wait to be dismissed from class.
If a student chooses to break a rule, the following consequences will be imposed:
1st infraction - Student receives a warning and name is recorded in the Discipline book. No further consequence. If the infraction falls under the “major” category in the student handbook, student will be sent to Mrs. Hernandez.
2nd infraction - Student receives a minor misconduct report to be signed by parent. After the accumulation of three minor misconducts, student will be referred to the office.
3rd infraction- (in one period) Student will be removed from the classroom and is sent to Mrs. Hernandez. Student’s daily grade drops to 60 points.
Severe disruption (harassment, fighting, causing harm to another student in any way, destruction of property, defiant behavior)-- student is immediately referred to the office (as per student handbook). All rules in student handbook apply.
