One week down......

I am happy to report that this first week of school has been a complete success! We really did not have too many tears, from the kids, that is. I still believe that the parents are still crying. It is a little more difficult for the students that are starting middle school.  They have to get used to block scheduling, lockers etc. I promise all of you they will survive.

Reminder......         Katrina over FL

Just in case a hurricane decides to come our way, remember that we follow the Miami-Dade County School System for closures, unless otherwise indicated by the Archdiocese of Miami. We will always attempt to remind parents of any announcements via the School Reach Program.

The purpose of the School Advisory Council is to:

Parent Participation Points....

This year our Home and School Association prepared a lovely flyer indicating the main events in which parents can accrue parent participation points.

This year EACH family is expected to complete 20 parent participation hours.  Additionally, families new to the school must complete ONE RETREAT here at St. Agatha (parent hours will be given for this retreat).

Approved Activities at this time are:

* (must complete fingerprinting process - described below, and the 3 hour Virtus training program)

If you would like to participate directly with our children, in our school activities, you will need to complete the 3 hour Virtus training, please go to www.virtus.org and register for another upcoming session.

Here is what's happening...

MASS ATTENDANCE - Remember every child is expected to bring in a mass attendance coupon (if they attend St. Agatha) or a SIGNED bulletin by the presiding priest at the catholic church that they attended. The homeroom teacher will collect your child's card or bulletin each Monday morning during homeroom.

If attending St. Agatha Catholic Church, students are to go personally to the usher's room to collect the mass card.
