MISSION STATEMENT/MISION PARROQUIAL

The Faithful of St. Agatha, convinced of their baptismal promises and the action of the Holy Spirit in their lives, would give themselves to the proclamation of the Good News and the spreading of the Kingdom of God.

In order to fulfill this mission, it is necessary to create authentic and committed groups of Christians which in turn will enrich the life of prayer, the formation of Christians, the apostolic action and a truthful sense of the apostolate.

Para cumplir con esta misión, es necesario crear auténticos y comprometidos grupos cristianos que enriquezcan la vida de oración, la formación cristiana, la acción apostólica y un verdadero sentido de apostolado.

Dear People of God:

As Pastor of St. Agatha since July 1, 2001, I am proud to present you with the various Parish Pastoral Ministries and Services at our Parish of St. Agatha who has a successful Stewardship Program. We are very vibrant and joyful Christian Community with more than 4,200 registered members, with a School of Excellence with more than 682 students, with a Religious Education Program with more than 800 children and 62 adults, with a Campus Ministry who serves the Florida International University Students and Faculty.

We have in our Pastoral Council 8 Commissions and 49 pastoral ministries and services. Also we have 25 Small Base Communities who are dynamic and alive. I hope that this information will help us all to be an integral part in this Christian Community.

PASTORAL COUNCIL

Pastoral Council serves as advising committee that meets with the pastor to determine how to best serve the parish's pastoral and spiritual needs.

El Consejo Pastoral es un comité de feligreses que se reune con el párroco para discernir cómo mejor llevar a cabo las necesidades pastorales y espirituales de los feligreses.

STEWARDSHIP/MAYORDOMIA

Committee that promotes the involvement of all parishioners in the various Church Ministries and Services. Stewardship emphasizes a way of life where each parishioner shares of his/her Time, Talents and Treasure with the Parish.

El Comité de Mayordomía promueve la participación de todos los feligreses en los diferentes ministerios y servicios que ofrece la parroquia de Santa Agueda. El propósito primordial de Mayordomía es el crear en nuestros feligreses un modo de vida de compartir sus Talentos, Tiempo y Tesoro con la parroquia.

PARISH ACTION COMMITTEE/COMITE DE ACCION PARROQUIAL (PAC)

This Committee promotes the involvement of all parishioners in the various Parish Ministries and Services. We call this Committee the "Unemployment Ministerial Agency", where the parishioners are invited to to be involved, work and participate in whatever Ministry or/and Service they wish to be; so that no one should feel "unemployed" as baptized Christians within our parish community.

Este Comité promueve la participación de todos los feligreses in los diferente Ministerios y Servicios Parroquiales. LLamamos a este Comité la "Agencia de Desempleo Ministerial", en donde todos los parroquianos están invitados y se les ayuda a involucrarse, trabajar y participar en el Ministerio y/o Servicio que escojan; y así no se sentirán que están "desempleados" como cristianos bautizados dentro de su comunidad parroquial.

ST. AGATHA SCHOOL

School Program. The purpose of St. Agatha School is to provide our students, within a Community of living faith and service, a Catholic philosophy of life in Jesus Christ. The school assists, not only the parents, but also the church, in providing their children with opportunities to deepen and strengthen academic achievement in accordance with the Christian principles of wisdom, justice, brotherhood and morality. We, as educators, consider that our mission is to prepare our students to proclaim the Gospel and to translate it into action. Thus, we incorporate two aims into our philosophy: helping our students to achieve self-fulfillment. Our education seeks to develop students' potential, thus helping them accomplish all that is possible for them: becoming fully integrated, happy, loving, warm human beings.

St. Padre Pio Program. The St. Padre Pio Program strives to serve students who demonstrate average or above average intellectual ability, who have no severe physical handicaps, who are not classified as mentally retarded or emotionally disturbed, but who may have academic deficits in one or more of the following areas: reading, mathematics, language arts and/or writing.

They will also strive to educate on matters of our Catholic Church and emphasizes the importance of making a commitment to service in our community.
